Roots of a Legacy: The Journey Behind Every Bottle
At Cult Following, our wines are more than just bottles on a shelf—they’re a culmination of nature, history, and the dedicated hands that craft each vintage. When you taste our Old Vine Zinfandel, you're experiencing more than just exceptional flavors; you’re tasting a moment in time, shaped by the unique environment of Lodi and the journey it took to bring that wine to your glass.
While many might assume that Lodi is simply hot, the reality is far more nuanced. During the day, the warm climate helps our grapes mature to perfection, but in the late afternoon, the cool Delta breezes roll in, creating the ideal balance. This daily temperature shift is what gives our Zinfandel its bold, fruity, and spicy characteristics, preserving the acidity while developing rich, robust flavors.
Our vineyards are home to ancient vines—some over 65 years old. These "candelabra vines," as we affectionately call them, are intricate and unique. They’ve seen decades of change, weathering the seasons while producing fruit that only deepens in complexity with age. Harvesting these vines is a meticulous, labor-intensive process. Every grape is hand-picked, with an eye for quality and detail, ensuring that only the best fruit makes it into each bottle.
But at the heart of Cult Following is not just the land or the climate—it’s the people. Every step of the winemaking process is a testament to the hard work, care, and craftsmanship of those who tend the vines and make the wine. The result? A Zinfandel that’s not only rich in flavor but rich in history and heart.
When you pour a glass of Cult Following, you're not just enjoying a delicious, dramatic wine—you’re connecting with the people and the story behind every sip.
